This desiccant quickly absorbs moisture in the environment through the principle of physical adsorption to keep items dry. It prevents moisture, mildew, oxidation and other problems.

Hygroscopicity and Recommended Dosage

At 25℃ and 90% relative humidity, our packaging silica gel has excellent hygroscopicity. Its moisture absorption rate can reach 30%-40%. That is, every 100g of silica gel can absorb 30-40g of water. The recommended dosage needs to be adjusted according to the packaging space and humidity environment:

Small Sealed Packages

(such as shoe boxes, electronic product boxes)

It is recommended to use 5-10g silica gel desiccant (about 1-2 small packets).

Medium-Sized Containers

(such as storage boxes, suitcases)

It is recommended to put 200-300g per cubic meter of space (about 40-60 bags, standard 5g/bag).

Large Transportation Environments

(such as shipping containers)

It is recommended to use 10-15kg per 20-foot container. It can effectively control humidity to a safe level (<40% RH).

Note: In high humidity environments (such as tropical areas) or for items that are easily humidified (such as medicines and precision instruments), the dosage needs to be increased by 20%-30% to ensure moisture-proof effect.
