This silica gel for electronics is a highly effective and reliable desiccant. It is specifically designed to protect moisture-sensitive electronic components, such as integrated circuits (ICs), printed circuit boards (PCBs), etc. This desiccant prevents moisture-induced oxidation, circuit corrosion, and the "popcorning" effect (cracking of components due to internal moisture evaporation during reflow soldering).
Moisture Absorption Performance
1. Extremely High Moisture Absorption Rate (Static Moisture Absorption Capacity)
Under standard conditions of 25°C and 60% relative humidity (RH), the equilibrium moisture absorption rate is typically > 20%. This means that 100 grams of dry silica gel can absorb over 20 grams of water.
In environments with even higher humidity (e.g., above 90% RH), the moisture absorption rate can reach 30%-40% or even higher, approaching its saturation limit.
2. Excellent Performance in Low-Humidity Environments (Dynamic Moisture Absorption Capacity)
For electronic products, keeping ambient humidity down to extremely low levels (e.g., <10% RH) is crucial. Our silica gel for electronics excels in this regard.
Even in ambient humidity as low as 20% RH, this silica gel still effectively absorbs moisture, maintaining an extremely dry environment within the container. This is a benefit unmatched by other desiccants.
It can stably maintain a relative humidity of <10% in confined spaces (such as moisture-proof cabinets and dry bags), perfectly meeting the storage requirements of MSD (Moisture Sensitive Device) Level 2-5a.
3. Hygroscopic Saturation Point
Silica gel's maximum moisture absorption capacity is approximately 40% of its own weight.
Physical Properties
This silica gel for electronics keeps its stable form during moisture absorption. It remains solid and granular after absorbing moisture, preventing liquefaction or deliquesce. This eliminates the risk of contamination on expensive electronic components.
