What is the principle of VCI gas phase rust prevention?
VCI is an abbreviation for Volatile Corrosion Inhibitors, which is prepared by special compounding techniques and mixing. It can be directly vaporized at ambient temperature and normal pressure, either alone or when bonded to a suitable carrier. This inhibitor can fill the rust-preventing factor of the mixed gas VCI contained in any interstitial space of the operating unit, and the continuous volatility can be adjusted in a sealed environment. The mixed gas adheres to the metal surface upon contact with the surface to form a dense protective film having a thickness of one or more molecules. The protective film effectively isolates the metal surface from the harmful gases such as moisture and oxygen. The occurrence of electrochemical reactions leads to corrosion of the metal to achieve the best rust and corrosion protection.
