This Type A silica gel desiccant is a highly porous, amorphous form of silicon dioxide (SiO₂) with a uniform micropore structure (average pore diameter: 1–3 nm). It is produced through the gelation of sodium silicate with sulfuric acid, followed by drying and activation to create a high-surface-area adsorbent.

Its porous structure (average pore size 1-3 nm) and abundant surface hydroxyl groups enable strong water affinity, achieving equilibrium adsorption of over 30% of its own weight at 25°C, with significantly higher efficiency at RH >60%.

2. Rapid Adsorption Kinetics

With a large surface area (650–800 m²/g), it can absorb >90% moisture within 30 minutes under 50% RH, making it ideal for fast dehumidification.

3. Selective Adsorption

It preferentially adsorbs polar molecules (e.g., water, alcohols), while minimizing interaction with nonpolar organics, ensuring high-purity drying in solvents like ethanol.

4. Thermal Stability & Regenerability

This This Type A silica gel desiccant can be fully regenerated at 150°C for 2 hours, retaining 85% capacity after 5 cycles.
